Research

Zia Ullah Akhunzada received his doctoral degree in Social Welfare from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and is the recipient of the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme. His doctoral project focuses on early marriages in Pakistan. During his doctoral studies, he also participated in short academic courses at the University of California Los Angeles, Leiden University, and the University of Vienna. His areas of expertise include child protection, community-based protection mechanisms, youth development, and gender-based violence (GBV). As part of his commitment to community service, he has joined the International Centre for Sustainable Development and Research (ICSDR) as a courtesy member. Given his interest and expertise, he is eager to offer consultancy and professional services in child protection, community-based protection mechanisms, and GBV.
